June Symbols for the Etsy Bloggers Carnival

As it is my Birthday Month (!) the carnivals are so fitting!

It's funny to learn about "your" symbols and then evaluate how you relate to them. As Cancer the Crab, my birthstones are moonstone, pearl, and alexandrite. I was told a long time ago never to wear moonstone because it would make me spacey and I already needed to focus on grounding...

As for pearls, I am actually allergic to them. I'm not kidding. I break out with a rash where ever the pearl touches my skin. My mom gave me a beautiful black pearl necklace years ago that I adore. It sadly sits in the jewelry box.

So just recently I was gifted with an alexandrite stone of which I'm in search of a setting. My friend says that alexandrite brings psychic awareness to you like a blast of lightning. Great. We'll see how that works out!

I named my chocolate princess Pearl after Esther's daughter in the Scarlet Letter. She was always the light in the shadows. It just so happened that "Pearl" was one of my birthday stones. I can assure you that I'm not allergic to Pearl.

Roses are my birthday month flower. I love the smell of roses. I've always been attracted to that smell and I wear rose oil a lot. Roses also remind me of my great grandma Bechtel. She had an amazing rose garden in her yard that she watered and made pretty all the time.

I'm also really attracted to peonies. Peonies are the 12th anniversary flower. Nothing to do with my birthday, but wonderful none the less! My grandma had beautiful white and pink peonies in her yard.

Ugh, ... I am mad for black pearls;
too bad!
I wear one, tied on with a string of kangaroo leather, that does not come off of me.

And I am a big fan of both roses and peonies both; though not together.
